So now that we’ve got the HOF game out of the way - who’s excited about football? My Eagles play the Pats tonight, and I’m hoping for a good thumping to kick off the preseason right.

Would you buy from people who are known to live in particularly heinous sin?

We have a farmers’ market as do many towns. Of many agricultural vendors, two local establishments sell there (and their products look wonderful) which are run by women who are known lesbians.

I realize that I may patronize people living in grievous sin without knowing it. However, in this case I do know it. I don’t think that such people should be denied the right to make a living. It’s just difficult for me to contribute to it.

You have all been so very helpfull in the past with similar issues; I thought I would ask your advice on a “new” one.

A girl falls into her swimming pool and drowns. Her father sees her lifeless body floating in the pool and races out to save her. He calls for help, and begins CPR. Her heart begins to beat again, her lungs begin to work… but she remains in a coma for 6 months. Eventually, she regains consciousness, but requires life long medical care. Because of her condition, she is granted 100% disability, and at age 18 qualifies for assistance under SSI.

This may be in the works to get tweaked but I’m having trouble checking in.

When I click on my desktop icon it still opens up the site but doesn’t recognize me It obviously then does not show the Mod thread. If I click on other pages it may say Access denied or it may act as though I’m logged in. (Welcome back Mike Mann) If I select log in, my info is there in the form and then I can go anywhere except the Mod thread.

What are your churches doing to provide health care for your pastors?

I’ve discovered a number of practices.

1) The pastor purchases his own policy (expensive) and the church pays the premiums with pre-tax dollars. The church may also pay the pastors deductibles with an HSA.

2) The church keeps the pastor’s salary low enough so that he is eligible for government subsidized health care. (I’m not kidding.)

3) The pastor or his wife have outside employment that provides benefits.

Neither the Foundry nor the “new posts” area are up-to-date. The latter is more recent, but Foundry is reporting new posts from many days. This makes it pretty hard to follow threads.

Is this just my pc, or does anyone else see this?
