Behind a paywall, but my guess it is because the white evangelical has only had a platform of fighting. They don't know what it looks like without that. I saw it when Roe v. Wade fell. Everyone was pushing for that to be struck down, when it was, there was a moment of loss, and then it was to buckle down and continue fighting, just at another level now.
