Some Practical Guidelines for Family Worship (Part 1)
Read the series.
Having considered the decline of family worship, as well as some biblical principles and positive benefits to support its practice, I’d now like to offer several basic guidelines that should govern our thinking and practice as we endeavor to implement family worship in our homes.

What, if anything, should we do about gun violence?
Some Christians has simplistic answers for everything. What we need to do is evangelize more, etc. and then that would solve all our woes. To my way of thinking, that is not true at all. Our churches are filled with evangelized people and pastors, and look at the messes we see!
But should we simply passively watch gun violence with mass shootings and say, “The problem is the human heart. Regeneration will fix it:?” Or will we address the fact that most people will never get saved and that some behaviors need to be contained?
So what is the best position, in your opinion, to address these matters in a practical, realistic way?

Honoring the Faithful
Memorial Day is always a wonderful time to reflect on the “good inheritance”1 (Ps. 16:6) that we enjoy as Americans, as Christians, and within our individual families. We honor those who have given of themselves—especially those who have given their very lives—for our country, and we also remember all of those who have preceded us in our family histories.
As I grow older, Memorial Day also causes me to think about other significant people—especially dedicated servants of God like the pastors, teachers and professors who devoted their lives in teaching me (see Heb. 13:7). They gave of themselves, to the very limits of their strength, to build up my life and ministry.
Differentiating Holiness from Legalism
“ask nearly anyone to define what legalism actually is, and the explanation quickly gets vague. The old joke is that legalism is anything to the right of me! Worldliness is anything to my left. It was the first time I wrote down my thoughts on senior adult ministries in the church. Below are my notes. I added some ideas as I spoke that are not included here. I hope this perspective may be helpful.
