ERLC joins chorus of conservatives rebuking Trump post dehumanizing Obamas
“Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission … issued a statement Friday night saying that ‘Regardless of the circumstances in which the video was made or shared, the depiction of the Obamas was inexcusable, and we are glad the video was taken down.’” - CPost

It is starting to become about time that Christian sources start speaking up regarding the assault of the gospel. Given the SBC, I am sure this will rock some congregants that still view Trump as a savior of sorts.
With humans there are always tradeoffs. Strengths, weaknesses, virtues, vices, knowledge, ignorance. I don’t know why so many have approached the question of high office as though there weren’t any tradeoffs. So leader A has to be defended as the best thing ever, no matter what he does, and former leader B has to be castigated for every single thing he did (forgetting for the moment that leader A has done many of the same things).
Others acknowledge the tradeoffs but don’t seriously look at them. Unexamined, or examined selectively or superficially it’s easy to assume one leader or another is obviously better than this or that alternative. Really looked at, though, it’s not so clear.
Maybe this is always how it is with mere humans. To me, some appear to be a clearly better set of tradeoffs. Others—it’s a wash, all things considered. A pox on both their houses.
Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.
