One in Four Pastors Plan to Retire Before 2030
“The graying of America’s pastors isn’t a new phenomenon, but it has become more pronounced. In 2022, just 16 percent of Protestant senior pastors were 40 years old or younger.” - C.Today

If they didn't start planning 30 years ago, they will be financially strapped.
Along the same lines of what Darrell noted, churches that have been paying starvation wages to their pastors for decades are set to learn the hard way that you're going to have a lot of trouble attracting new men to these positions if they're going to do better even at Wal-Mart or Menard's. 40 years back, having good benefits and such was not as big a deal, but the cost of medicine (and housing) is such that you've got to take that into account. The cost of housing has, even after inflation, more than doubled since 1980.
Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
