Read Part 1.
A Biblically-Based Perspective of Self-Care
Does self-care have any place in a pastor’s life? Viewed solely from a worldly perspective, it’s questionable. But through a biblical lens, self-care resembles the biblical concept of stewardship.
Viewed biblically, self-care is stewardship of our personal resources and priorities. It is managing the resources God has entrusted to us for eternal benefit. Several Bible texts containing either instructions or examples come to mind.

Will the Catholic Church cave in to the LGBTQ agenda?
A recent Filings article (link from SI is here: https://sharperiron.org/filings/022222/41022) discusses how a “high up” cardinal in the Roman Catholic Church (who is good friends with the pope) is suggesting that the church is wrong to condemn LGBTQ practices.
So, in your opinion, do you think the RCC will cave into the culture on this issue? And if so, when?

From the Archives – The Greater Sin: Are There Degrees of Sin? (Part 2)
Read the series.
Why does God treat some sin more seriously than other sin? The answer to that question depends upon at least two factors: the degree of light the sinner possesses, and the degree of intention involved in the sin. Let’s consider each of these in turn.
1. The degree of one’s guilt is relative to the degree of one’s knowledge of truth.
In Luke 12:47-48, Jesus teaches this principle by way of an illustration:

How Do You Decide Who’s Right?
One of the ways the Greek rhetors of old used to classify arguments was under the headings of ethos, pathos, and logos.1 Ethos referred to character and credibility: arguments appealing to one’s reputation, standing, experience, expertise, and trustworthiness. 2 Pathos referred to longings, drives, appetites—and what we today call emotions. Logos had to do mainly with facts and reasoning.
Those skilled in rhetoric were able to use all three in the work of persuasion, emphasizing one or the other depending on the situation.

My Experience at Refresh
This winter, for the second year in a row, I went back to my seminary alma mater in Ankeny, Iowa, to attend the Refresh Conference hosted by Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary. Once again, I exhibited on behalf of The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, and this year I was joined by my colleague Paul Pierce, a Faith College graduate who serves as a church ministries representative in the state of Washington.
I extended my time in Iowa by scheduling local church ministries on both Sundays surrounding the conference. On the Monday following Refresh, Paul and I also hosted a pizza lunch for Faith students interested in learning more about The Friends of Israel.
The Bible and Music: What Does God Want Us to Know, Believe, and Do?
I have spent much of the past 10 years studying this subject. The more that I have studied it, the more that I have found that the Bible has much more to say than what most people think that it has to say about this subject.
If God were to ask you to sum up your thoughts about this subject briefly in a few sentences, what would you say to Him?
