“I lived in an alternate universe during 1972 and 1973, so I know ideological addiction.”

“My Communist Party addiction lasted only 16 months, but even then I needed God’s merciful intervention to leave that drug behind. Others, though, may be able to regain a grip on reality by popping their right-wing-media-only or left-wing-media-only bubbles. One way to do this is by deliberately developing a Twitter stream that includes both liberals and conservatives.” - Olasky

I’m one who also views media who don’t agree with me—as a near-libertarian, it’s almost inevitable—but I’d dare say as well that with any media, you’ve got to learn to read between the lines to figure out that which is not being said, or that which is not being properly understood.

And really, that’s where the rubber hits the road when you’re dealing with all these sources. They all have their blind spots; it’s our goal to have the non-negotiable (and true) points of reference by which we can anchor these claims, or dislodge them from the slip. As Thomas Sowell notes, everyone is entitled to his own opinions, but not his own set of facts.
