G.R.A.C.E. update: Bob Jones University Investigation – October 2014
My earlier comment still stands: the release of the report is going to be a non-event anyway. For all expecting some blockbuster news, prepare to be disappointed
I don’t see any date on this article, but I don’t recall seeing it previously:

EDIT: This was the cover story in the May/June 2014 issue of The American Prospect magazine.
And you know this …How?
[stephen]And you know this …How?
Since mine is the last post prior to yours, is your question directed to me? If so, I don’t understand what you’re asking…
Larry, my comment was not directed at you. I thought I replied to Jim’s comment directly, but I guess I screwed up somehow. My question was directed to Jim, who has repeatedly proclaimed that “the release of the report is going to be a non-event anyway. For all expecting some blockbuster news, prepare to be disappointed”.
Jim seems very confident in this and I’m curious to know if he has a reason for his confidence or if he is just blowing smoke. I am a BJU grad and I live in the Greenville area and I can tell you that the sentiments expressed by Jim are greatly at odds with the sentiments of BJU grads(both supporters and, not surprisingly, those who oppose the unversity) in this area.

Well I’m not a prophet so you can call it a prediction (or blowing smoke if you will)

Hedging your bets against being stoned to death if you’re wrong? :)

Well I am safely several thousand miles away from Greenville!
My prediction is what you will see is that 1) nothing took place on campus or was swept under the rug, 2) that the counselling practices around those who had been abused off of campus were probably suspect, or maybe even poor. I knew some of the people who provided input into GRACE, and nothing I saw was too compelling. It was more around the lines of “I was abused as a small child, I had a lot of baggage and struggles with this, I reached out to the school and was given poor advice”. How this will play out we will see. Maybe something more happened, but that is my prediction.
Jim Peet and dgsweda had no clue what they were talking about. The report is definitely not a “non-event” and it is definitely not true that “nothing took place on campus or was swept under the rug”.
Jim, I believe I asked you if you were just “blowing smoke”. With the release of the report today, I believe that question has been answered. You were indeed blowing smoke.
