Urgent prayer request

Forum category

A young Buddhist lady who has become an ardent and zealous Christian under the ministry of our children in Cambodia has come under even greater persecution from her family. They are taking steps to have her removed from the area she lives and works in and the church she is now part of. She was possibly going to be married to a young Christian man and the family is trying to stop that as well. We know “Hooie” well and love her. It is very sad to see the great price she is having to pay for coming to Christ.

Please keep her in your prayers, especially for the next few weeks. I’ll update soon.

We’ll add her to our prayer list. I often wonder if these people suffering persecution in other countries know how much their brothers and sisters in Christ care about their plight.

Here is an update from my Son-in-law. Prayers have been answered but please continue.

Dear Prayer Helpers,

Hooie has suffered much verbal abuse and threats over the last week and a half, as well as much shaming, but it seems to have tapered away. Her family has not carried out their most harsh immediate threat of kicking her out of the house and there has been some more tolerant treatment of her in the last few days. It is the worst case of persecution that I have seen so far here, and it is coming from our first set of neighbors when we came to ________, people we became good friends with at that time! She has obviously had God’s grace upon her life in a very real and special way through this. She has no idea what to expect in the coming days. Thank you for praying. She has been very grateful to know of your prayers
