The Supreme Court’s 1983 decision in Bob Jones University v United States cost the university its tax exemption. It may end up costing all biblical Christians considerably more. Samuel D. Over the last decade, though, many of the university’s “unusual” rules have been discarded, and a kinder, gentler BJU has emerged, while still holding to the fundamental truths found in their creed. Movie theatres are no longer off limits (certain restrictions still remain in place), women can wear pants, and men are allowed to have beards and their hair has grown noticeably longer.

Evangelicalism and fundamentalism are all over the board on church music. I’ve noticed at least six different positions from those who would not call themselves liberal.

Obituary for Mrs. Beverly Hyles

Mrs. Beverly Hyles, 88, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Munster, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Jack Hyles, former pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. She is survived by her children: Becky, David, Linda and Cindy, and their families.
