Perspective for COVID panick

I have noticed that some people think COVID is not a big deal. Others are totally panicked. Fortunately most are between those two extremes. I am concerned about those who are beginning to feel hopeless and are living in constant fear of dying or losing a loved one. Although we should always be prepared for death, I wanted to share some stats to put things into perspective and hopefully calm some fears without encouraging carelessness.

What is your work status?

I know some states have not been hit much with COVID-19. So you may end up canceling your vote and changing it, who knows?

By work status, we mean, “Where do you work from…or are you working?”

When Do You Think We Will Get Back to Normal Life? This is about guessing, not knowing.

By normal life, I mean no more quarantined areas or states, no more restrictions, and plenty of toilet paper in the stores. Some things may never go back to the way they were (for example, our entire society might go germ-phobic).

How has SI helped or blessed you the most?

This is a difficult question, but with Aaron’s post about this being his last year leading SI, it has caused us to reflect.

Our hope and prayer is that another individual or group would be able to continue SI and its unique niche in our lives.

SI has blessed me in so many ways, and you probably have the same testimony.

Is there anything that stands out ahead of the pack, even slightly?

Please comment as well.

The SharperIron RFP

As of January 2020, SharperIron is fifteen years old. I’ve been involved to some degree for about fourteen of those years, and “in charge” for about a dozen. It’s time—maybe well past time—to seriously explore big changes for SI.

Hence, this Request for Proposals (RFP)—specifically, proposals for taking the site off my hands and into a new future.

Restored Church of God Book Ad on SI??

I am now seeing ads for a book from the “Restored Church of God.” I looked them up and they are a branch from the Worldwide Church of God.

Is this really a wise idea?

Are you planning on making a New Year's Resolution (or aim at a particularly specific goal) this year?

Please don’t get caught up on the word “resolution.”: We do not mean a vow or promise, and we are not “trusting in the flesh” by using the term. Think, instead, of a specific practice, habit, or goal you are going to aim toward.

Unfortunately, these polls are not set up for more than one answer, so, if you can, make the choice that will get a special emphasis this year.

What to see in London?

My family and I will be visiting London this summer and I’d like to get some suggestions of things to see that might not make the standard tour guide. What I’m especially interested in would be things/places of Christian historical importance. So, for example, Bunhill Fields Burial Ground. Also, I’m planing on going to the British Museum, but want to make sure I don’t miss something of significance among all the other exhibits. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Day trips are OK, too, if we can go by train. This will be our first trip to Europe. Thanks!
