Discussions about this discovery will probably reveal more about us than they will this "new" planet.

Anyway, the people living on that planet have already visited and surveyed earth. Their verdict? "Mostly Harmless"

Faith is obeying when you can't even imagine how things might turn out right.

I agree that this is the motivation for all the interstellar microbe chasing that NASA is engaged in. Why would it follow that finding water or fungus on another planet means
