"If for whatever reason you disagree, whether it's religious conviction or personal objection, your career will in essence be over"

In an http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2010/sep/10092006.html article from another source :
The Department of Defense issued a statement by Bostick to reporters Friday, in which the general stated that he “simply did not make those statements,” and has “been extremely careful” not to express opinions that might influence the Pentagon panel, of which he is a member, currently reviewing the DADT repeal. Bostick also called the statements attributed to him “personally reprehensible.”

However, the Times staff has stood by the quotations.

“He either forgot what he said, is confused, or is lying,” Washington Times editorial page editor Brett Decker said of Bostick, adding that the quotation came from “a member of the military who was there” and was verified by several sources. He said he would not reveal the source for fear of retribution.”

And if this is the stand that military policy takes whenever the DADT gets repealed, how is it going to affect Christians. I don’t have a hard time imagining that some semblance of this attitude is going to exist, though maybe not as draconian (if that’s the word) as this general is saying. I do have a hard time imagining what it means for us regular military schmos who represent Christ and His church. I’m certainly not willing to assent to affirming such an attitude toward LGBT.

I will work side-by side with those who suffer from such corrupt lifestyles, understanding that they’re lost and that I can be a witness to the Gospel for them. OTOH, I don’t know how to react to literally facing my career’s end or helping those Christians around me whose careers are in jeopardy because of our unwillingness to bow down before the king.

I guess I could take it like Daniel did, and his three brothers.

Any real thoughts?
