What is perhaps most disheartening in ministry is friendly-fire. In the world, the worldly mindset is your enemy. The lines are somewhat clear. In church work, however, people who are supposedly on the same side commit acts of espionage. That makes it particularly difficult. We expect persecution from the world, but we do not anticipate friendly-fire.
