If you want to put a stop to special music, invite me to sing a solo. They'll never have specials again.
Tyler is a pastor in Olympia, WA and an Investigations Manager with a Washington State agency. He's the author of the book What's It Mean to Be a Baptist?
I can see an argument for some version of it from 1 Corinthians 14:26, if we can interpret each person having a "psalm" as having a song that may or may not be explicitly from the Psalms. But that said, there are times when, so to speak, I ache for Tyler to take the stage after yet another "special" musician had butchered theology and musicality there, leaving good sense and good taste writhing in a pool of their own blood.
