Missionary died thinking he was a failure

Missionary died thinking he was a failure; 84 years later thriving churches found hidden in the jungle

β€œIn 1912, medical missionary Dr. William Leslie went to live and minister to tribal people in a remote corner of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. After 17 years he returned to the U.S. a discouraged man – believing he failed to make an impact for Christ. He died nine years after his return.”

Discussion

This story should inspire all of us here who are involved in any kind of teaching or outreach that even though there are times when our efforts may appear to have little immediate effect the true impact may not be evident until after we are gone.

That was a great article. I often wonder if we will see people in heaven who rejected our attempts at witnessing but later were converted.
