Military Adds Humanism, Druid, Reform Judaism, 200+ to Recognized Religion List

“The United States Department of Defense, in its quest for diversity in military chaplaincy, has announced an increase in the recognized religions list…. it has officially recognized Humanism.” WRN

Discussion

Well, we can call it a real religion, but the thing that strikes me is that Reform Judiasm, which has been a denomination since 1926 and has roots in the 19th century (really the same form criticism that gave birth to Christian theological liberalism), is only now getting recognized by the military. There is probably a story behind that, but one way of viewing it is that’s what you call patience.
