Is It ‘Ministry Failure’ To See a Counselor?

“instead of protesting the ‘rights and wrongs’ of counseling, let’s start from a point of agreement that our holistic health contains aspects—physical, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional health—that God created in us and are, thus, worthy of our care.” - Lifeway

Discussion

There is definitely room to debate the pros and cons of different counseling approaches, but why would it ever be wrong for someone in ministry to talk to someone else about their concerns and then get advice? Some may want to talk to a professional counselor and others would rather just talk to a good friend, but getting advice and counsel is wise. The specific issue involved may also determine who to talk to.
