Not surprising. You have a Congress that is all but essentially dead. You have an executive branch ruling by executive order, many of them not legal. These executive orders are being challenged by courts, and there is an expectation that the Supreme Court should ignore the Constitution and uphold the executive order. The issue is really not so much the Supreme Court, who should be held to the rule of law not public opinion, but the fact that the government continues to spiral into the web of dysfunction. What the public seems oblivious too, is the fact that government is no longer working and what that really is going to mean for their daily lives. Lastly, the general public has no clue how the Supreme Court works or what the opinions even mean for the most part. The Supreme Court does not decide that transgender individuals can participate in sports, they only uphold, strike down, or give guidance to lower courts. The lower courts make the judgement. And in many cases what the Supreme Court is ruling on is very nuanced and sometimes narrow.
