I could not help thinking of the aspects of the trinity within this conversation. The author said that God does not have a physical body. I would agree that the Father and Holy Spirit do not have physical bodies, but the son definitely does. Further as the son took on a physical body and became fully man, he also had human emotion. That does not mean that the father does not have emotion though. Although love is a choice it is also an emotion. The same can be said about anger. Further the Holy Spirit can be grieved. Is that not an emotion?

It comes down to what you believe about divine impassibility.

I believe God does feel emotions but that his emotions are self-determined not determined by his creation.
