Sound of Freedom Is a Clarion Call for More Christians in the Arts

“This year’s Fourth of July moviegoing experience was a surprise. The top draw at the box office was not a feel-good blockbuster but a thriller about child sex trafficking.” - Acton

It could also be popular because it plays into the Qanon narrative that is a key theme amongst conservative evangelicals.

I have not seen the movie and have no comments on it but I’m thankful that more attention is being paid to human (and especially child) trafficking. It’s prevalence is inextricably linked with porn which many do not want to admit.

Lord willing, this will get more people interested in trying to stop it. There are some church based ministries that fight trafficking and minister to those escaping it. A great thing; especially as only in Christ is true freedom found.

I am heartbroken that some would think that just because some fringe group (Q Anon) is against child trafficing, that we should just ignore that issue too. I have read numerous articles in progressive publications to that effect. I know that if someone in our church came with that argument, I would not want them to work with kids.

Both the main actor and the director believe and tout fairly aggressively that child trafficking is the result of funding from elites so that blood can be drawn and adrenochrome can be extracted from that blood to be drunk to extend their life. We say it is fringe, but it isn’t really fringe. Yes, child trafficking is bad, but the draw at the box office is driven by a so called fringe that isn’t fringe that has made child trafficking one of the key elements the church should be attacking.

Elites extending their lives? Sure, sounds kooky.

Elites exploiting the vulnerable in the most wicked manner imaginable for pleasure and profit? Like Epstein and Victoria Secret, et al.?

I don't buy into all the conspiracies, but everyone should probably look into what is there before dismissing everything on the basis of what sounds outlandish. There's been some nasty business going on.

It doesn't take a conspiracy theory to believe that evil people would do evil things to innocent children.

It is a conspiracy theory to believe that a radical right wing group made up a bunch of stories of evil people doing evil things to kids and even got progressive media to report on it just so that the right wing group could make a movie to get their base riled up. Which is more believable?

In light of some of the commentary about this being "qanon" and "conspiracies", it feels appropriate to mention that there is absolutely nothing qanon, political, partisan, 'conservative', or even really religious in the movie. I thought the topic of child sex trafficking was a non-partisan issue.... This particular film was in fact in process several years before qanon came about.

This film is not some piece of qanon drivel. It talks about a *real* issue facing the world *right now*. This is widely known. View the film as a piece of fiction if you must, but the fact remains that child sex trafficking and CSAM is a real, and well established blot in our world today.

Appreciate the film for what it is, and the real issues it is raising awareness about:

Child Sexual Assault Materials (commonly called Child Porn(sic)) and Commercial Child Sexual Exploitation.

And, to the point of the filing....I agree. Christians, and frankly anyone else willing to create art that is not full of moral repugnancy and utter filth should absolutely start creating good art/storytelling. The world needs more of it.

One of the articles connecting the "Sound of Freedom" movie to Q Anon was written for Bloomberg by Noah Berlatsky. Noah Berlatsky was the spokesperson for M.A.P. (minor-attracted person) advocacy group, Prostasia. He had earlier written that he was upset that pedophiles were stigmatized for hateful purposes. There is good reason to be suspicious of those who are critical of this movie.

Dave, this gives me some pause.

I don't know anything about adrenochrome or what qanon think.

But here's what's obvious to me:

1.Children (and people) are being trafficked. This should horrify us, regardless of our beliefs as to what is being done to those children. And yes, this is something the church should be [attacking](not sure that's the word I'd choose, but it will do).

2. A lot of influential men have been going to Epstein's Island. Our justice system conveniently "allowed" Epstein to kill himself and the video recorder conveniently malfunctioned during that episode. Following that, our justice system seems to have either hidden or lost the Epstein Island visitors list. Meanwhile, Epstein's assistant Maxwell is in custody and our justice system seems completely uninterested in getting her to list the people involved. This is highly suggestive of conspiracy.
