Cedarville Univ. has a new president
“After a seven-month long process that began after Dr. William Brown announced his resignation Oct. 29 and 46 candidates later, the board of trustees unanimously elected White as Cedarville’s 10th president on Tuesday.”

This from a critical article was encouraging to me: “this SBC pivot with White’s election is endemic of a broader shift away from moderate evangelicalism toward what I would call evangelical sectarianism.”

In other news, changing one’s last name to any color found in the eight-crayon crayon box increases one’s chances of becoming the president of an Ohio Christian college 23.5%.

Can you please link to the article you’re referring to? Thanks.

I believe it came from this blog:
In other words, Cedarville is transitioning from a more moderate evangelical to a more conservative evangelical and some of its younger grads don’t like it.
Thanks much. The comments in that article are really a shame. Too bad conservative Christianity is not culturally relevant anymore…
Dr. White is a top notch guy. I have interacted with him in the past and spoke with him some at the Gospel Coalition conference in Orlando this year. He will do much to improve the school. Dr. Lee is also a great guy in his own standing and will help Tom bring about a very nice change.
1 Kings 8:60 - so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God and that there is no other.
I have also met Dr. White and would say “Ditto.” He is both bright and gracious.
Paige Patterson got back on the board recently and is helping to take steps to move Cedarville in a more conservative direction. White has been Patterson’s right-hand man at SWBTS, and this is a clear step in that direction. One of the top church history profs at SWBTS, Jason Lee, is also leaving SWBTS to head up the Bible department at Cedarville.
