“Does Therapy Even Work?”
“There are some, many of them Christians, striving to rethink psychology and counsel others by looking outward as well as inward, to know themselves by first knowing what is true and good.” - Breakpoint

I was surprised in reading this that therapy helped as much as it did. If it helps in 50 or even 30% of the times, that is significant.
It is frustrating that the solution to so many problems is “get counseling/therapy.” Sometimes that is an evasion, and the answer is more like, “this problem has no solution, but therapy could help you cope better or do what you can.” We don’t like the idea that some problems have no permanent solution.
"The Midrash Detective"
This was a pretty "thin" article. They only state, "While counseling is a powerful tool, it can only aim at the question, “What’s going on inside of me?”, which is not entirely true. It also can answer, "How do I deal with a certain situation that I am confronted with?". As well as many others. Therapy can be, and in many cases is a useful tool. Does it solve everything? No. But just as medicine is a useful tool, therapy can also be a useful tool. Yes, Scripture holds the answers to our lives. But it doesn't address many practical elements in our day to day life, just as it doesn't answer what kind of medicine we should take when we have a stuffy nose. We should not avoid therapy, but understand what its limits are and what does good and/or bad therapy look like.
