The Ethical Dilemma of Abortion and Voting for Donald Trump

“For the one tribe, failing to vote for Biden, especially since I live in Florida, is seen as me helping ensure four more years of Donald Trump. The other? Well, in their minds, refusing to vote for Trump demonstrates my lack of commitment to important social issues, specifically religious liberty and abortion.” - J. Ellis

Discussion

Look, Trump will not be with us forever. However, the policies he is for will have a more lasting effect. Same goes for the Dems. Their policies are the thing to keep ones eye on.

Thank you, Paul, for pointing this out. I get more irritated with Trump with every passing day. I would gladly see him gone. But I will vote for him because of his policies and judicial appointments, AND, to endeavor to prevent the policies of the Left from returning. If they do, we may all be wishing Trump back again! Issues and principles are far more important that any one individual, even if that individual is the president of the United States.

Article says “he [Trump] supports and promotes policies that violate Kingdom ethics”.

What policies are those?

Biden won’t even give a straight answer on court packing, the Green New Deal, or other things, and has been caught on tape saying he doesn’t think voters have a right to know. I don’t like Trump, but unlike most politicians, including his direct predecessor, he’s actually tried to do what he told us he would try to do. That’s a refreshing change, and Biden would reverse that course.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

Both the candidates for President from the major parties are advanced in age such that the possibility of their passing away in office is more likely than for a President who would be younger.

With Biden-Harris, that would mean Harris would become President. With Trump-Pence, that would mean Pence would become President.

Comparing what it would be like to have Harris as President versus having Pence as President should make it very clear for which pair of candidates no believer should vote.

Piper is brown-nosing.Trying to stay relevant (as if that’s something). Trump is not vulgar (he was as a Dem), and he is no more proud than most other politicians (and not a few Christian celebs and pastors!). Voting for a proud man will not make you complicit in killing babies and pushing pederasty. Voting for Biden will. Voting for an independent is as good as not voting at all. Trump has done many of the things he said he would do. Most of not all of them are good. There’s no moral dilemma here. Trump is the President. Where is the proof that he is flagrantly any more boastful than Obama? Where is the proof that he IS vulgar (we all know he used to be, but is he now?). As far as being factious, well I think Jesus had a bit of that in Him.

many of his policies violate Kingdom ethics

And … which policies of Biden - Harris will promote Kingdom ethics?!

There are two pairs of candidates no Christian should vote for.

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

Agreed that there are two sets of candidates (well, three of four, I guess) that I ought not be voting for. However, just like in 2016, 2012, and 2008, I am happy to vote against the more noxious candidate by pulling the lever for the one most likely to beat him/her.

Regarding Piper’s key issues, the trouble I have is that I can’t differentiate candidates based on them. You want to talk about sexual immorality and arrogance? Um, can we talk about the guy who wrote two autobiographies bragging (in fictionalized form no less) about his sexual conquests before he turned 50? Can we talk about the lady who hid her law firm billing records and actually headed her husband’s bimbo eruption teams in 1992 and 1996? There is a point, reading some of the commentary on politicians, where I suspect many of us need a fainting couch so we can appropriately respond to what is obvious about most of them.

Biden is the Trojan Horse for Harris, AOC/Squad, Schumer, Pelosi, and the radical, Marxist, socialist left. They will pack the Supreme Court, pack the senate by adding D.C. and Puerto Rico as States, and pack the US by giving amnesty and citizenship to 11 plus million illegals. We will become the next NY City, Chicago, Minneapolis, SF, but on a national scale. The Bill of Rights will be trampled upon by these fascist, socialist, Marxist, godless people with their godless democratic platform being fully implemented. Piper’s comment is foolish and irresponsible. The difference between the Republican platform and Dem platform is the same difference as between Pence and Harris.
