Pastors face questions after selling church property and buying million dollar lakefront home

“A husband and wife team of pastors from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, are now facing tough questions after selling their longtime church to developers then splurging on a million dollar luxury lakefront home while telling their members that God now wants them to worship in ‘micro churches’ held in their homes.” - Christian Post

“We will no longer be your pastors. We’ll be your apostles over smaller works…”

All you need to know right there.

“Their” church and “their” people. How many times have you heard that is pastor so and so’s church when referring to a certain church in a community rather than using the name of the church followed by pastored by so and so?

That’s how far my home is from the (former) church building, per Google Maps, yet I’ve never heard of the church before.

….is why your pastors should not be the sole trustees of the church property. I have to wonder what other signs they gave that things were not well there.

Side note per Larry’s comment: my former house in Chaska is about midway between the former church and the couple’s new home. I also had never heard of it despite driving by it quite often back in the day. Worth noting as well is that culturally, Waconia at least was a long way from Eden Prairie, despite it being only a 20 minute/half hour drive. It’s almost like the couple is running away.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

I deliver mail in Eden Prairie and I’ve never even heard of the church.
