The Joys and Challenges of Being a Guest Speaker (Part 5)

By Paul J. Scharf on Fri, 09/22/23

Read the series.

We’ve been looking at some practical issues related to being a guest speaker in a local church. These concepts have been examined with a view toward encouraging those who are involved in some type of itinerant ministry—as well as those who receive them into their churches.

In this final installment, we’ll consider a subject that is distinct from, but related to, those that we’ve looked at previously. It is again presented in the hope that it will be of some help to those who, like me, are attempting to grow in these areas of ministry.

A total of 525 people, many of them pastors and wives, registered for this week’s 94th Annual IFCA International Convention. My wife and I were among those who gathered at the Cincinnati Marriott at RiverCenter and the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Ky., as we oversaw the exhibit for The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry.

The theme for the conference was “Fight the Good Fight: Reclaiming Biblical Fundamentalism.”

Look Up — Unraveling the Mysteries of the Bible

By Paul J. Scharf on Fri, 03/03/23

The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry will present its annual Look Up virtual Bible prophecy conference next weekend — Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11.

The theme this year is “Unraveling the Mysteries of the Bible,” and it deals with a number of questions related to eschatology.

The conference is free for all to participate and will remain available to rewatch until March 24. Registration is required at lookupfoi.org.

This online event is especially significant for me, because it is the first time I have been involved in Look Up — or in any speaking opportunity of this magnitude.
