Roman Catholic Diocese to purchase the Crystal Cathedral for $57.5 million.

“The Diocese increased its $53.6 million offer to $55.4 million last week, then boosted it again this weekend to $57.5 million. Diocese officials wanted to make sure the offer covered all projected debt, including an approximate $300,000 annual annuity to the Crystal Cathedral’s founder, the Rev. Robert H. Schuller, and his wife.”

This place is in my backyard, and I was really hoping the RCC wouldn’t get it. But then again, it’s had very little Gospel within its panes for its whole existence.

This is a major win for the OC RCC Diocese. It will save them over 50 million dollars in building their own cathedral from scratch.
