4:55 a.m., 19 Mehr/October 11 According to a statement posted on Iran’s judiciary website, pastor Yousef Nadarkhani’s death sentence has been revoked by the High Court. Nadarkhani, 33, was arrested and sentenced to death in Iran’s northern city of Rasht in 2009. An appeals court upheld his sentence last year after he refused to reconvert to Islam, his lawyer Mohammad Ali Dadkhah told Reuters earlier this month. The case will be remanded to the lower court which issued the original death sentence. That court will retry the case and issue a new verdict, which may or may not be a death sentence. That new sentence can be appealed again. ”Pastor’s Death Sentence Revoked”
