KJV is 400 Years Old Today

To mark the occasion, Bob Hayton video-reviews D.L. Brake’s A Visual History of the King James Bible(link is external). Lots of celebrations all over. King James Bible Turns 400 Years Old on Monday(link is external)

Discussion

“To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the KJV, YouVersion, the most popular Bible app, has organized a mob reading of the translation beginning at 12 p.m. ET on Monday. People all over the world will read the KJV for 400 seconds in unison.”

I’ve never seen “YouVersion” but if you’re into that sort of thing…

Thanks, Aaron, for the link. It is a momentous day for sure. You should check out the http://www.kingjamesbibletrust.org/(link is external) King James Bible Trust and it’s http://www.kingjamesbibletrust.org/community/the-youtube-bible(link is external)] YouTube Bible project as well….

Well, for those of us who have switched over to using a smart device as our main Bible, YouVersion is a great app. It’s free and you can download a fairly large number of free translations (so you won’t have to have an internet connection to read), and access most others online.

It’s not my favorite Bible app (though it’s certainly not a bad one), but it does have the most translations available, so I switch to it when I want to look up something in a version that I don’t have on my usual apps.
