Judeo-Christian influence is strong at The House of Ideas. But perhaps more constant in the Marvel Universe than traditional religious narratives or concepts is the notion that many of humanity’s supernatural and mythological traditions descend not from some sort of divinity, but from powerful alien forces.

The Church has no control over how easy it is to get opioid prescriptions and only limited control over access to help for mental illness. But by nurturing a full Christian life we also reduce social isolation and eliminate the mentality that we should always be pain-free.

Patriotolatry is dangerous because it flies under the radar for so many American Christians. After all, it can feel dangerously like faithfulness. But when the church begins to wed itself to one particular nation-state, then it begins to prioritize and emphasize its nationality or patriotism as greater than God’s holiness and his global plan for the spread of the gospel.
