Dan Patz named new President of Northland

Joel,

Fair point! We should give NIU time to make their adjustments regarding their board and new president. You said, “You can’t imagine what it’s been like to get the right people in place. Unless you’ve been there - and I don’t mean this to be rude - you simply don’t know what you’re talking about.” I personally have very little experience creating a board, but I can definitely imagine it would be a difficult process.

At the same time many people will be watching to see what happens.

friends and foe of Northland will be watching. My hope here is that even if there are brothers that have been wounded because of the changes in Dunbar - my hope is they can rejoice as Northland begins to plow once again in college ministry, camp ministry, etc….. Guys you all are pointing out legit organizational responsibility. I can assure you no one is more aware of those responsibilities like the NIU brothers themselves. Not only do they have to juggle new leadership - they will have to demonstrate to the Tracs people progress, stablility, etc…..I’ve watched my Dad and other leaders at IBC have to juggle the same challenges. I can assure you Tracs will not give Dunbar or anyone a “pass” - now they may give an institution extra time to get X, Y and Z together - but they will demand from Dunbar a clear action-plan.

Look - I understand some of you men are hurt because you feel you’ve lost a school philosophically - I can understand how that would be hard. So consider this - I can name off a few schools that are too philosophically to the right or left of me - but honestly I love those men/ministries in the Lord and I’m thrilled when they are succesful with this program or that program and I realize that as they are succesful the body of Christ is strengthend. The Gospel is preached - discipleship is furthered - brothers are being equipped. Yes philosophically we might not be on the same page but we are in the same body, serving the same Master. How in the world does it help for me to sit in my own “angst” continually against this or that ministry just because we are not philosophically as close as maybe we once were.

Try to consider my point…….Straight Ahead guys!
