Dispensationalists are not, or should not be, fixated on the defense of a system. Any approach to theology must be concerned with only one thing—its adequacy as an explanation of the whole Bible.
Not allowing for (at least occasional) examination of the system itself is a major flaw in most forms of theology. "This is how the system is and how it should function, so do not question it!" has no place in a true theologian's mind if the real goal, "an explanation of the whole Bible," is really the goal.
