Professor's groundbreaking research examines the spiritual growth — and struggles — of the nation's Christian college students
I am an Alumnus of Biola University. I have little respect for what the school has become. The Rosemead School of Psychology appears to have many who have an inadequate view of true Spirituality and an improper view of integrating Psychology and Biblical truth.
Biola allowed students to participate in social dancing off campus starting in 1979. However, it did not allow any connection of dances with the school. The result was, and is, many students dancing at clubs and bars but claiming not to order alcoholic drinks, at least during the school year.
Biola has no scheduled social dancing on campus but has “Midnight Madness” events and “dance contests.” Go to the Biola website and click on the Presidents Chapel massage on dancing. You will also be able to go to U Tube videos showing the “Midnight Madness” events. It is the wildest dancing one can imagine. They have all sorts of sensual dancing at these non dancing events.
Spirituality at Biola is minimal and lacking in proper Biblical convictions. They believe the Gospel and claim to believe in Biblical inerrancy. There is much compromise on many other Biblical truths.
I really doubt the validity and conclusions of this study as being applicable to Conservative Evangelical or Fundamentalist oriented schools.

[Bob T.] I really doubt the validity and conclusions of this study as being applicable to Conservative Evangelical or Fundamentalist oriented schools.
To date, more than 3,000 students from nearly 40 Christian colleges across the United States and Canada have participated.
Where is the evidence of validity in this study? Without careful study, my guess is that they are measuring someone’s particular construct of spirituality.Ironically, Roland, when I questioned you on this same thing in another thread, you seemed to suggest we should just take your word for it. Why the change?
[RPittman] What are the demographics of these forty schools? How were they chosen?Author’s response (to me via email)
Link to his clients
Thanks for posting the link to my article. Some of the schools are listed in the clients page of my website at: drtoddhall.com, although all of those schools didn’t necessarily use the STI. Some are listed b/c I provided consultation, but that should give you a feel.
