Sorry to Tell You, But Jesus Is Not Returning on September 23

“Jesus told His followers what had to take place before He returned, and those things have not yet happened, nor can they happen in just a few days. That’s why I’m quite certain that His return is not scheduled for September 23, 2017.” CPost

There really isn’t anything left that has to happen before the return begins. There are things that have to happen before He arrives on the earth.

Either way, His return is, from a biblical point of view, not more likely on 9/23 than 9/22 or 9/24, etc.

We should live both 1) as though the Lord may return in our lifetime and 2) as though the Lord may not return for another 2,000 years.

The mistake I made earlier in my Christian life:

  • Christ will rapture me
  • No need to save for the future (eg retirement), b/c rapture will certainly happen in my lifetime

At about the age of 40, Tom’s truth became real:

  • Christ’s return is imminent but
  • Since I don’t know, it is prudent to plan for and save for retirement

David Meade, the fool who perpetuated this madness, is now backing off and hedging, like these idiots often do:

David Meade, who claimed the world will end Saturday, said doomsday isn’t this weekend after all.

“The world is not ending, but the world as we know it is ending,” he told The Washington Post. “A major part of the world will not be the same the beginning of October.”

What happened to John “Blood Moon” Hagee? What happened to Hal Lindsay? For some reason, Christians continue to give these crackpots credibility.

You’re not alone. Its my observation that many Christian men in your generation followed a so-called “faith” approach to old-age planning. Today, many such men are facing unnecessary but very significant difficulties due to this approach. Some even waived their SS involvement, under the clergy allowance, but made no alternate plans. I’m thankful for a father who pointed this out to me at an early age and taught me the nature of the true faith perspective. I’ve written about that here.

He’s early. You’re supposed to change the story the day *after.* It’s just how these things are done.

And don’t forget Harold Camping and his billboards. And the to-heaven-and-back book craze.

Reason 1: Biblical illiteracy among so many who fill pews and spend money in Christian bookstores.

Reason 2: Chri$tian Book$tore$ that $eem to take advantage of the Biblical illiteracy for rea$on$ all too obviou$.
