Using the Original Languages in Preaching

I am at best a dilettante in the original languages, slightly stronger in Hebrew but good at neither, but even so I must note how much of a delight it is to see even a hint of the original word pictures, exactly what word is used to convey an idea, etc.. Like the seminary professor’s admonition that reading the Bible in translation is like kissing your bride through the veil—something’s missing.
