Suggest they spend more time in Proverbs. Lots more.
Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.
That’s good, but to call that a spiritual awakening because of a Bible study might be a little bit of an overstatement or else what we now consider a spiritual awakening has been dummied down to the lowest level. And history seems to repeat itself. I can remember a bunch of inner-city Christian community development workers at a national conference in the early 1990’s getting all excited that God was at work in Washington D.C. during the Clinton administration because Hillary Clinton was in Bible study run by evangelicals with several other politicians (both Democrats and Republicans.
Let’s face it. A lot of evangelicals and fundamentalists tend to unfounded optimism.
