Justices to Hear Case on Religious Objections to Same-Sex Marriage

“The Supreme Court agreed on Monday to hear an appeal from a Colorado baker with religious objections to same-sex marriage who had lost a discrimination case for refusing to create a cake to celebrate such a union.” NY Times

Discussion

This is going to be a landmark case for Christians. It will decide a whole littany of other elements that can affect churches and elsewhere. While it may not directly affect it, it will start tilting things one way or the other and have some level of implication.

….may be simply whether discrimination against homosexuals is seen by the Court as pervasive as it was against blacks. I was thinking that the baker’s appeal was going to be shot down like a nerdy kid by the prom queen, but apparently there is some legal space for maneuvering in terms of the law here.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

Part of it may be that he has no problem serving same sex couples and selling them a cake, just not a wedding cake.
