Questions surround shooting death of Tulsa Pastor

It just doesn’t make sense. The clip shows 2 OHP officers yelling at the guys to get out of the water. They stride over to one of the OHP and then one of the guys tackles an officer. Why? What is the context? What led up to this? It makes no sense. Why didn’t the OHP release more video before this scene? Maybe it shows no new information.

I can say pretty reasonably that no sane, non-drug influenced (or demonic influenced) person just walks up to a police officer and tackles him. Something is missing from the story. I realize the police say one of the brothers tested for alcohol, but as a general rule, alcohol doesn’t cause violent behavior like this (at least not towards police who you have to be able to walk through knee high water to get to!!).

My last interaction with police officers was very negative:

  • I was arrested for the license plate tabs on my truck having expired
  • An officer asked me to walk towards his vehicle.
  • My crutches were in the bed on my Chevy S-10
  • I bent into the bed and grabbed my crutches and walked towards him
  • He said he had to handcuff me. I said, “is this really necessary?” and he said “yes”
  • I was placed face first against the police car.
  • My crutches were taken from me and put in the trunk of the police car
  • I was frisked in the back
  • He pulled me back towards him to frisk me in the front
  • I fell backwards and he said “stand up straight”
  • I said “that’s why I need crutches”
  • A female officer grabbed me by my belt and yanked me standing. It was like a very uncomfortable weggy
  • I was cuffed and placed in the back of the cruiser. I flopped over on my side and could not right myself.
  • A police man got me back upright

It was very rough. I am an incomplete quad and my muscles are very weak - particularly in the core and legs. I was really treated very poorly.

Honestly whenever I see a police man, I cringe.

My full story here.

This was in suburbia in the city where I have lived 19 years (it was 16 then). I’ve paid property taxes, state income taxes and license plate tab taxes the entire time. I estimate that in 16 years I had paid well over $ 200,000 in taxes to the state. and for $ 96 in license plate tabs I was arrested, had my truck impounded. My attorney thought it was a joke. It was resolved as a petty misdemeanor.

Mark, I wonder if one of the brothers found out in the worst possible way that he (or his brother?) was a mean drunk. I had a college pastor who said he stopped drinking because his friends pulled him aside and told him that he was really mean when drunk.

Not that the police are perfect in this case, as Jim’s example demonstrates, but I would have to agree that something was not firing in at least one of the brothers’ brains when he assaulted an officer.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
