No Sissies!

I appreciate Jay Adams more and more as the years go by. Another leader and I are dealing with a long-standing marriage issue with a deacon and his wife. When this came to light, and we began speaking to the couple, the first thing that popped into my head was 1 Peter 3, and Ephesians 5. As I read Jay Adams’ work (e.g. Solving Marriage Problems), and the work of others who have the same presuppositional approach to real life issues, I am always grateful and encouraged to see a dedication to apply the Bible to practical, everyday life.

When this issue came up, I didn’t reach for a secular resource. I also didn’t reach for a work by a Christian who’s influenced by secular methodologies. I reached for the Bible, and then looked for Jay Adams’ book on marriage problems for some good reminders. And, along the way, I’m learning (or, being reminded about!) how to be nicer to my own wife, too!
