First Baptist Dallas pastor Robert Jeffress: Evangelicals don't care if Trump had sex with porn star

Jeffress’ full-throated and constant defense of and promotion of Trump has, in my opinion and backed by plenty of anecdotal evidence, done about as much damage to the ability of evangelicals to reach non-believers with the Gospel in this country as anything I’ve ever observed in my half-century of life.
It’s one thing to quietly enter one’s voting both and cast a ballot out of political pragmatism (which I couldn’t bring myself to do, though many others I respect and appreciate did). Using one’s position as a high-profile Christian leader to promote and defend a man of Trump’s character and philosophy is quite another matter.

I didn’t vote for one person who might belong in jail, but rather against another who I knew ought to be in jail, but to be fair to Trump, one angle that’s missing from the story is the simple question of why Daniels went public at this time. I would suspect it might be because she’s out of money, as she’s now doing a tour of strip clubs around the country soliciting people to get a picture at $20 apiece. I believe she’s also on record as having denied the allegations a time or two. Not exactly a star witness here!

Regarding the question of whether the media can report on this, here’s Napolitano on the matter. In a word, the media can report, and the President can sue the snot out of her for going public against an agreement. I don’t doubt that Trump at least has been the kind of person who would be idiotic enough to sleep with a porn star, but that’s the landscape as I see it.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

Robert Jeffress is an example of Proverbs 25:26, “Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain, is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.”
