Babylon Bee: Members of First Baptist Dallas passed their golden jewelry, watches, and personal trinkets down to the front of the sanctuary Sunday morning, where Pastor Robert Jeffress melted the large pile of golden knickknacks into a towering statue of President Donald Trump.

The Babylon Bee left out this bit:

And Jeffress said to Moore, “Let not the anger of the ERLC burn hot; you know the people, that they are set on evil. For they said to me, ‘Make us a president, who shall go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’ And I said to them, ‘Let any who have gold take it off’; so they gave it to me, and I threw it into the fire, and there came out this statue of Trump.”

NewKind of sad

Just thinking about how there might be brothers and sisters in Christ wishing that their pastor wasn’t the face of Evangelical Trumpism on cable TV or the Babylon Bee.

NewWhat Paul says

I can’t remember particulars, but count me in with Paul—my fuzzy memory is telling me “if you looked, you’d find some very good reasons not to attend 1st Baptist if you lived in Dallas”. And, per a soapbox I’ve climbed on often, I’m actually not talking mostly of the size of the church, either.

Thank God for the Bee. :^)
