Tucker Carlson calls Christian Zionism ‘brain virus, heresy’ during interview with avowed antisemite Fuentes

“ ‘Christian Zionists — like what is that? … I dislike them more than anybody, you know, because it’s Christian heresy and I’m offended by that as a Christian,’ Carlson declared in the interview.” - CPost

Discussion

I have gone through several iterations in my affinity for Tucker. At the height of it, I thought he was a fearless journalist, full of integrity and courage.

Not so anymore.

Tucker is living in a political dreamworld, in which MAGA is the kingdom of God on Earth. He is not dealing with Biblical realities.

Also, he claims to be a Christian, but certainly does not act like it.

He may still produce some interesting stuff, but my respect is gone.

It's worth noting that while I've never been much of a fan of Carlson, his apparent anti-semitism follows years of ever more bizarre statements. The one that made me think he'd lost it first was one he filed in 2022 in the aftermath of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It was just bad, something where you want to say "Tucker, do you ever read the papers, because it doesn't seem like it from what I see?"

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

I read an article this last week (I cannot remember where) that pointed out that Candice Owens and Tucker Carlson seem to be trying to legitimize so many of the left wing accusations against the right. For example, the left seems to suggest that the right is allied with Putin, when the right in reality is clearly opposed to communists like Putin and do not trust him at all. Meanwhile Tucker Carlson is chumming up with Putin. Further the left accuses the right of being Nazi when the right defends the Jews and Israel. Now we have Carlson and Owens taking the position that the left takes on Israel and it is being used to say, look, the right doesn't like Israel either. I do not know anyone on the right that likes Nick Fuentes except Carlson. This is just weird and those on the right are quite bothered by it. Fewer and fewer credible sources on the right want anything to do with either Carlson or Owens and have never wanted anything to do with Fuentes.

@JD, I hope you’re right about the Carlson/Owens/Fuentes sub-tribe being increasingly marginalized. It often looks to me like voices like these still dominate the MAGA right. But if the right is starting to regain its senses, that’s good news for conservatism—and the country.
