“Lately, I’ve noticed another disturbing trend gaining steam online—self-described Christian nationalists openly advocating for ‘forced conversions’ and mandatory church attendance. It’s not just a fringe opinion anymore. It’s creeping deeper into circles that should know better.” - CPost

NewA look at history

Fri, 05/02/25

It strikes me that anyone who knows the history of state churches, and the nations that hosted them, ought to cringe at the notion of a requirement to go to church. The nations which had state churches tended to have stale churches, little evangelism or discipleship, and such a lack of Godliness that the militaries of nations with state churches tended to have brothels for soldiers and officers, especially in time of war.

Even in the U.S., when we had a cultural imperative to go to church--e.g. back in the 1950s and such, many people went to church because the Godless commies could not--that same cultural imperative led to a lot of wolves in the flock. No, thank you.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
