The Rich (And Everyone Else) Get Richer

I find that much of the struggle of people is oftentimes rooted in poor decision making and a lack of skills (both life skills and work skills).
You can’t say that! That’s racist and/or classist! If people have poor decision making and lack of skills, it’s because oppression from the rest of us made them that way! [/sarcasm]
(BtW, I agree with every word you wrote.)

I also think as time has gone on we have lost our resourcefulness. You have so many options to make things work if you are resourceful and work hard. But layer that onto poor decision making and it is just a recipe for disaster. The older I get the more I am convinced (even though I didn't need to be) that a solid nuclear family with two resourceful spouses can make it. And it isn't about getting richer. You can grow your food. With a cheap fishing pole from a garage sale you can catch fresh fish to eat. You do not need to live on government subsidies. But if you are a single mom with 4 kids, don't get child support, never had a good mom to train you in the skills you would need and don't have a good education, working a minimum wage job than it will be very problematic.
