“If Satan took up marriage counseling, he would want people to believe that … before marriage is about giving oneself to another person to love and to serve, marriage is about a sense of personal well-being and fulfillment.” - Challies

NewGod's Design for Your Marriage

Wed, 07/19/23

I'm currently 5 weeks into a marriage series from Genesis 2. We've hit on a lot of what Challies mentions in his post. The difference between God's design for marriage and the world's perspective of marriage is miles apart.

NewAdd: Marriage should be fair.

I would add: Things in marriage should be fair. You will need to give things up for the sake of your marriage, sure - but each partner should be giving up things equally. And the love and giving you pour into your marriage should be returned to you equally. When she spends money, then you should get to spend an equal amount on something "for you."
