Lack of clarity over many years has produced this problem for the SBC and even other groups. If the SBC will not maintain the Biblical teaching on this issue, then they won't on any issue.

Because this issue has now become about race, my guess is that there will be a compromise. The SBC is fine with being considered misogynistic, but it is desperately seeking to recast itself as a racially / ethnically diverse denomination given its past sins.
