ETS meeting focuses on Reformation heritage

“The Heritage of the Reformation” was the theme at this year’s annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society, where Southern Baptists delivered nearly a third of the gathering’s presentations and Trinity International University President David Dockery was elected president.” BPNews

That picture really doesn’t do justice to the jolly young elf Dr. Bauder is, nor to the spectacular handlebar mustasche he’s rocking these days.

Who can create the best meme?

"Some things are of that nature as to make one's fancy chuckle, while his heart doth ache." John Bunyan

“Oh, great. Southern Baptists finally figure out the fundamentals, and now they think they own the place.”

“I wonder what’s for lunch. Hope it’s not that casserole again.”

“How was I to know that this would prove I’m a convergent?”

I hope the FBFI doesn’t find out about this …

Institutional Director … to two visiting Psychiatrists (Drs Patterson and Mohler):

“This fundamentalist is sooo dangerous that we keep him always in a straitjacket in this padded room”

  • Patterson: “Bauder and Mohler are calvinistic heretics”

  • Mohler: “I’m gonna offer Bauder a job”

  • Bauder: “I would rather be a custodian is a Christian Day School than a Southern Baptist”

I see somebody went through (within the past 15 minutes) and systematically “disliked” every single prospective meme. No sense of humor? How long until this comment is disliked, too!?

Whew, I disliked the ones that didn’t have a dislike so no one would feel left out! :^)

Seriously, the dislikes are no surprise in that the debates between FBFI-types and non-BFI-types have been intense, and the ones that were “disliked” prior to my action were ones joking about the BFI. Do the math.

Funny thing is that in his Friday missives, Dr. Bauder notes he’s a member, I believe, and he’s spoken at their conferences. Go figure.

Hmmm … should I do Teriyaki or burgers for lunch?

Heh, heh - my seminary is better than all ya’ll’s …

Go ahead, take the picture! No matter what, I’ll likely be shot by my own people for being here, anyway.

“Talk to the mustasche, buddy!”

“Now, brothers, let’s talk about separation.”
