Bernie Sanders Shows How Religious Ignorance Breeds Progressive Intolerance
a blind leader of the blind.
Hoping to shed more light than heat..
Here is an article from HuffPost. It is what you’d expect from that publication. Behold this excerpt:
In the first place, it is Vought, not Sanders who has used a religious test to support the firing of a tenured professor. His demonstrated intolerance is a disturbing trait for someone in public service. Vought may claim that all are “worthy of dignity and respect regardless of their religious beliefs”, but when it came to Professor Hawkins, a fellow Christian, Vought behaved quite differently, precisely because her description of her faith did not comport with his narrow interpretation of Christian theology.
It is more important than ever that normal Chrisians actually be able to explain express, and live out a coherent Christian worldview. These people don’t understand Christianity, and their children don’t either. The Christian “gloss” has left our society. That means Christians have to do more work to lay a foundation for the Gospel to even make sense (e.g. Acts 17).
Tyler is a pastor in Olympia, WA and works in State government.
Per the Huffington Post - if someone can’t see the difference between a religious test for a religious school and a religious test for a government official in violation of the Constitution I don’t know what to say except darkened in their intelligence. And maybe “Duh!”
Having visited East Berlin just before the wall fell in 1989, it simply boggles the mind that someone could visit the USSR, as Sanders did for his honeymoon, without figuring out that something was horribly, horribly wrong with socialism and Communism. If memory serves, he’s also the same guy who got kicked out of a hippie commune for laziness, which quite frankly takes some doing. So Sanders is simply continuing a lifelong pattern of cluelessness, aided and abetted by his voters.

KD, you signing Bernie up for commencement speaker at BJU or something? :^)
Or pointing out that maybe, just maybe, we ought to be careful about throwing stones here?

Bert, my contribution is best understood in the context of the only other Bernie Sanders thread. I made the mistake of objecting to Bernie’s address at the bastion of fundamentalism known as Liberty University. Apparently, I didn’t realize how important it is to allow false teachers of all stripes to address impressionable young people.
:^) Seriously, I think what Liberty did was to invite Trump (another false teacher IMO), so they had to have Bernie there, too, if I remember correctly. Thanks for the clarification/reminder.
