We are pleased to announce that Northland Ministries, located in Northeast Wisconsin, has agreed to transition the leadership of the Northland Campus in Dunbar, WI to Project 14 Global Missions, effective immediately. This is contingent on raising enough funds, before July 23, 2015, to satisfy current creditors. This will allow P14GM to begin the next exciting Northland chapter. Project 14 Global Missions is a ministry-minded, mission agency, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, that equips Christian leaders, establishes churches, and provides quality education and resource to strengthen and encourage God’s people to reach others with the gospel of the grace of God. P14GM wants to utilize this northern Wisconsin facility for the purpose of advancing missions worldwide, operating a Christian camp ministry that supports our international One Life Christian Camps, and exploring the future educational potential for a Leadership and Biblical Studies Institute.
Never heard of Project14 I don’t think, but a scan of their doctrinal statement—at least the online version—shows belief in the fundamentals of the faith, though it seems “dumbed down.” I hope they have a more complete statement somewhere. No idea where they fit on the charismatic gifts spectrum. There is literally no mention of the Holy Spirit.
Still, it looks like a gospel-spreading effort and it’s good to see the prospect of the property getting some good use.

Jeff Kahl is the Executive Director of P14 Global and for those that know his ministry background, he was on staff and camp director of Northland Camp and then at Camp CoBeAc before being led to work for P14. I would think with his background and experience, coupled with his heart and desire for camp and missions, that this could wonderfully be used by the Lord to use the facilities for continued gospel ministry at Northland.

I worked for a little while at Northland Camp under Jeff. I don’t think that there will be any issues with either Charismaticism or the Trinity.

It’s good news to see ministry at Northland moving forward. To see Northland continue with it’s camping ministry and missions is very consistent with everything Northland has stood for over the decades of ministry. It’s sad (and telling) to see some of you assume the worst with Northland on the occasions of each potential change or adjustment, as the ministry continues through these days of transition - just because of certain disagreements you had in the closing chapters of the learning institution.
It’s OK that some of you have (and continue to have) disagreements towards Northland, however too many have been sinful in their continued animosity and bitterness towards our dear brothers in Dunbar just because the ministry there has ended up in a different denominational footing than your own. Many of you need to grow up.
Looking forward to seeing God continue to do great things in Dunbar and around the globe.

It’s a bit of a bellyflop, though, not to articulate trinitarianism in your distilled doctrinal statement. That’s all.
I worked under Jeff Kahl for two Summers while a student at Northland (2000-2001), and enjoyed serving under him. He’s a “camp guy.” It that sense, the camp aspect of this ministry should thrive. He had great attention to detail (to the point of irritation for overworked, underpaid, and tired camp staff…but that’s sort of what you sign up for), and his heart to see campers change for Christ was encouraging, especially during some of those long weeks with Junior High boys… I don’t really know about the other plans listed on the website (Bible Institute, grad programs for pastors, etc). These seem a little outside his wheelhouse, but I am assuming other staff would be brought on at this point. I haven’t kept in contact with Mr. Kahl, but I would assume that he would still be theologically and practically where Northland was under Dr. O. I’m good with that. Its not where I am personally, but I have a great deal of respect for those who are “more conservative” (or less conservative for that matter) than I am, but who don’t hold it up as a badge of spirituality. I never sensed that in Doc O. I pastor an Independent Baptist Church (kind of waffles between fundamental and conservative evangelical), attend a doctoral program at Southern, and would love to see Northland succeed in this. I always regretted not getting up there for family camp before it closed. I guess we’ll see what happens.

Jeff Kahl, Executive Director for P14GM, has been appointed the onsite Executive Director for Northland Ministries to navigate strategic planning for the future. His current priority is to get the “friends of Northland” to eliminate the $1.2 million dollars of current debt.

What happens if less than $ 1.2 M is raised? If that amount is the deal breaker …. what happens to if $ 1.1 M is raised? Funds returned to donors?

I have been looking around on Guidestar looking for Camp CoBeAc recorded financials for the past few hours and can’t make any headway. I know CoBeAc is owned by the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship of Michigan but can’t find any records on them. Anyone else know how to look them up? I would be interested in comparing Kahl’s financial success at CoBeAc before donating money. Also I really wish the Sword of the Lord paper thing would have grown up into a credible publication arm of fundamentalism. People have questions and it would be nice to have credible reporters doing the work for and making the information known. I would love to see Kahl’s organization be properly vetted by a credible news source before making a monetary decision, but fundamentalism doesn’t have anything like that.
