MABTS Joins Forces in New Biblical Counseling Program
“Dr. Michael R. Spradlin, President of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, along with Dr. Jay E. Adams, Founder of the Institute for Nouthetic Studies, and Donn Arms, Executive Director of the Institute for Nouthetic Studies, have announced that the Institute for Nouthetic Studies will become a ministry of Mid-America Seminary. The agreement becomes effective on July 1, 2015.”

Hoping to shed more light than heat..
This is excellent news. And with Adams and Aarms both getting up in years, provides a viable vehicle for longevity of their ministry after they are gone.

But you are exactly right. Jay and I have been concerned about this for years. We have not had the money to hire someone and groom him to take over so this solves that and several other problems. MABTS is a great place with the financial and personnel assets to strengthen this ministry. We will be able to do things going forward that we would never have been able to do on our own. Now one can earn seminary credit (fully accredited by SACS) by studying under Dr. Adams (an amillennial Presbyterian) at a Southern Baptist oriented Seminary!
While I will still be living in SC near Jay (and our grandchildren) and managing the online aspect of this partnership, I will be traveling to Memphis to teach some modular classes with Jay joining us for an hour or two each day via Skipe. If anyone is considering seeking a fully accredited M.Div., D.Min., or Ph.D. in biblical counseling give me a call.
